However, you may also be interested to know that CHRIS BERRY will be appearing on BBC Radio Leeds tomorrow both as writer and singer in his own right on PAUL CUNNINGTON’s afternoon show at 2.30pm. CHRIS will be playing one of the songs from his show as well as talking about his own career, plus that of JOE LONGTHORNE. As you will know by now Chris has been writing Joe’s official autobiography during 2009, which is set to be released in late March 2010. Chris will be talking about the time he has spent with Joe during 2009 and the man himself. FOR THOSE who are looking for more information about the rare recordings which will also be made available with JOE’s book Chris is happy to report that they will contain tracks that were originally recorded in 1974-75 when Joe was just 20 years old. CHRIS BERRY launches massive tour for 2010 – with FOG, CMC and SOLO GIGS

We are not even in to 2010 just yet (I know it’s only 3 days away) but CHRIS BERRY is going to be playing even more gigs! Not only is he currently completing JOE LONGTHORNE’s AUTOBIOGRAPHY and back in studio recording new material, CHRIS is also currently negotiating a Spanish Tour, as well as adding to a UK list that already sees FOG playing 40 gigs, CMC 20 and a further 20 SOLO gigs.

a solo performer in his own right; and organiser/singer of THE SINGING FARMERS, but there’s more to come before Christmas! He might not have done his own Christmas shopping yet, but he’s busy! TONIGHT sees Chris on TV, on the BBC LOOK NORTH programme (the one that’s broadcast from Leeds & covers predominantly West & North Yorkshire – if you have SKY & you’re not in the pick-up area to get it on 101 then try 977 or somewhere around there that’s where you can watch  the regional stations not broadcasting in your area). Tonight Chris will be appearing with Ken Jackson as THE SINGING FARMERS to publicise the concerts in March 2010, as well as singing some Christmas songs. Chris & Ken will be on telly around 6.45pm… THEN… straight after that he’s ‘on the road’ to THORNER, near LEEDS where his band FOG is playing @ The Mexborough Arms, starting @ 9.30pm – you are advised to arrive by 9pm! TOMORROW – Wednesday 23 December sees FOG play their last gig of the year @ their home ground in THE BUFFERS, SCHOLES, nr LEEDS also starting @ 9.30pm.. you really must get there by about 8.30pm for that one if you want to sit – but then again FOG are all about partying, so you’ll need to be up and dancing!! In between times Chris will be continuing writing the autobiography which is now @ 86,000 words – only another 4,000 to go! The long-running charity fund-raising concerts by THE SINGING FARMERS are back again for 2010! Tickets are NOW ON SALE for the 4 performances which will take place on the following dates & at the following venues:  SUNDAY 14 MARCH – APPLEBY PUBLIC HALL, Appleby in Westmorland starts 2.30pm; SUNDAY 21 MARCH – KIRKBYMOORSIDE MEMORIAL HALL, Kirkbymoorside starts 2.30pm; FRIDAY 26 MARCH – ALLERTONSHIRE SCHOOL, Northallerton starts 7.30pm; SUNDAY 28 MARCH – DARLEY MEMORIAL HALL, Nidderdale starts 2.30pm    THE SINGING FARMERS are 5 individual singers all related to the farming and rural world, plus a keyboard player. They are: CHRIS BERRY – renowned rural journalist; KEN JACKSON, CHARLES MARWOOD and TONY RICHARDS – all farmers; PHILLIP HOLDEN – farm supply shop owner; and LLOYD LOCKWOOD – rural music teacher. The concerts have been taking place since 2004 and 4 concerts take place each year.
