Chris Berry appears on BBC Radio York tomorrow – Sat 6 Feb @ 9am

Chris Berry will be reviewing the papers, talking about the writing of the Joe Longthorne autobiography he has ghosted – and about the Singing Farmers, plus his own bands FOG and CMC – tomorrow Sat 6 Feb on the Julia Booth Breakfast Show. It’s on 103.7FM or you can get the station through BBC on your computer… He will also be singing Brown Eyed Girl….

Next Saturday 16 January sees Chris Berry playing one of his now semi-legendary SOLO NIGHTS @ The Fox & Hounds in Langthorpe, near Boroughbridge. ‘Last time I was there we had such a fantastic time’, says Chris.

However, you may also be interested to know that CHRIS BERRY will be appearing on BBC Radio Leeds tomorrow both as writer and singer in his own right on PAUL CUNNINGTON’s afternoon show at 2.30pm. CHRIS will be playing one of the songs from his show as well as talking about his own career, plus that of JOE LONGTHORNE. As you will know by now Chris has been writing Joe’s official autobiography during 2009, which is set to be released in late March 2010. Chris will be talking about the time he has spent with Joe during 2009 and the man himself. FOR THOSE who are looking for more information about the rare recordings which will also be made available with JOE’s book Chris is happy to report that they will contain tracks that were originally recorded in 1974-75 when Joe was just 20 years old. They include songs such as MY LIFE IS JUST LIKE A SYMPHONY – a song that Joe feels would be a real winner for X-FACTOR’s Joe McElderry – which was written by a Hull man Gary Nicholson, and another Nicholson composition YOU YOU YOU. Further details will be released of the other tracks in the coming weeks. Many fans will NEVER have heard of either o fthese two songs, but Joe may even be singing one or two of them in this years’ shows! ‘The early response to pre-orders has been amazing,’ says Chris. ‘We are already seeing a massive interest in fans obtaining the book and rare recordings package. CHRIS BERRY launches massive tour for 2010 – with FOG, CMC and SOLO GIGS

We are not even in to 2010 just yet (I know it’s only 3 days away) but CHRIS BERRY is going to be playing even more gigs! Not only is he currently completing JOE LONGTHORNE’s AUTOBIOGRAPHY and back in studio recording new material, CHRIS is also currently negotiating a Spanish Tour, as well as adding to a UK list that already sees FOG playing 40 gigs, CMC 20 and a further 20 SOLO gigs.

a solo performer in his own right; and organiser/singer of THE SINGING FARMERS, but there’s more to come before Christmas! He might not have done his own Christmas shopping yet, but he’s busy! TONIGHT sees Chris on TV, on the BBC LOOK NORTH programme (the one that’s broadcast from Leeds & covers predominantly West & North Yorkshire – if you have SKY & you’re not in the pick-up area to get it on 101 then try 977 or somewhere around there that’s where you can watch  the regional stations not broadcasting in your area). Tonight Chris will be appearing with Ken Jackson as THE SINGING FARMERS to publicise the concerts in March 2010, as well as singing some Christmas songs. Chris & Ken will be on telly around 6.45pm… THEN… straight after that he’s ‘on the road’ to THORNER, near LEEDS where his band FOG is playing @ The Mexborough Arms, starting @ 9.30pm – you are advised to arrive by 9pm! TOMORROW – Wednesday 23 December sees FOG play their last gig of the year @ their home ground in THE BUFFERS, SCHOLES, nr LEEDS also starting @ 9.30pm.. you really must get there by about 8.30pm for that one if you want to sit – but then again FOG are all about partying, so you’ll need to be up and dancing!! In between times Chris will be continuing writing the autobiography which is now @ 86,000 words – only another 4,000 to go! He might be seen as lead singer of FOG, CMC and FOG ACOUSTIC, but Chris Berry is also a solo performer and has been performing under his own name over the last two weeks.

This Saturday sees Chris follow up his sensational night @ The Mex in Thorner (Sat 12 Dec) with another barnstorming performance in prospect @ the FOX & HOUNDS, which is situated in Langthorpe, BOROUGHBRIDGE, North Yorkshire. Landlord Richard says: ‘Chris is a superb entertainer. He’s one of the few guys that play in bands who can then come out onhis own and win over an audience. It doesn’t matter how many are in he sees it as his objective that everyone should enjoy his performance.’ Chris has been playing with the other 3 acts for the past 5 years but is clearly enjoying his solo sets. ‘You really can have such great fun with people and in my nights the audience still gets up to dance even though it’s just me and my electro acoustic guitar. I am thoroughly looking forward to Saturday. Last Saturday’s gig in The Mex was nothing short of amazing. It was packed and they’re all going to be back there when I play again in the early part of next year!’  Chris plays a whole range of styles and eras from 50s to current day – Buddy Holly to Kings of Leon and everything in between – and there’s plenty of great singa long tunes too.. Chris Berry’s Big Success @ The Mex in Thorner

What a fantastic night in The Mexborough Arms in Thorner last Saturday 12 December – absolutely packed out and a brilliant evening of entertainment.

Chris Berry, lead singer with leading melodic rock covers band FOG and acoustic acts CMC and FOG ACOUSTIC, brought his own solo brand of hits from all decades. Sporting a brand new Ovation Celebrity Deluxe and specialist harmony vocals provided through yet another piece of new kit Chris wowed Thorner locals and those from outside the village with two superb sets which, even though this was just one man and one guitar, had the audience on its feet dancing the night away. ‘I really thoroughly enjoyed the night’ said Chris. ‘When you play somewhere and you’ve normally played with others it can sometimes be a bit odd, but Saturday night was just great. I can’t wait to do it all again.’ The comments back from those in The Mex crowd included: ‘We’ve not been in here for ages. We always used to come in for the music nights. You were great. When are you back?’ and ‘You have such an amazing voice. I’ve loved every minute of you tonight.’ and ‘You are not only a great entertainer, but you are also a lovely man.
